Motor Stopping Problems: Stops without Warning

Possible Causes
__ No gasoline in tank
__ Gasoline shut off valve jarred closed
__ Air lock in gasoline pipe or tank
__ Battery wire loose at either terminal
__ Broken primary wire
__ Broken point spring (rare)
__ Ignition short circuited by ground in wire
__ Clogged gasoline supply pipe
__ Clogged carburetor jet
__ Particles of carbon or oil between spark plug points
__ Insufficient lubrication
__ Pistons seized on account of defective oiling
__ Inlet valve stuck open
__ Bent or broken camshaft or crankshaft (rare)
__ Seized main bearings (rare)
__ Flywheel wedge by foreign matter in engine base (rare)
__ Sheared key in crankshaft gear operating valve mechanism (rare)
