Motor Starting Problems: Fuel Supply

Possible Causes
__ Tank shut-off closed
__ No gasoline in tank
__ No gasoline in carburetor float chamber
__ Gasoline old or stale
__ Gasoline level too low in float bowl
__ Gasoline level too high (flooding)
__ Gas mixture too lean
__ Cylinders flooded with gas
__ Clogged filter screen
__ Clogged filler cap vent
__ Clogged fuel supply pipe ( dirt)
__ Clogged fuel supply pipe ( water)
__ Choke control stuck
__ Dirt in float chamber
__ Dirt in sediment bulb ( full of dirt)
__ Float valve stuck
__ Broken choke control
__ Bent or stuck float lever
__ Leaky float (causes flooding)
__ Loose or defective inlet manifold
__ Water in carburetor spray nozzle
__ Carburetor frozen (winter only)
